Sayda is a mom, licensed public school teacher, Teach for America service member, and a champion for children.
Growing up to immigrant parents from Honduras and Mexico, Sayda helped her mom clean houses on the weekends so she could be the first in her family to graduate from college. Sayda joined Teach for America in Western Massachusetts to ensure more young people had the same opportunities she had.
Since then, she’s reached over 800 students and families in her 9 years as an educator. As an activist, Sayda has fought for educational equity at the local, state, and federal levels because she believes that all children, regardless of their background or life circumstance, deserve access to a high-quality, affirming education.
